Kinetic Energy in 3.75" Scale: Custom Marvel Universe Speedball

The New Warriors roster is never truly complete without the bouncing kinetic powerhouse himself—Robbie Baldwin, aka Speedball! Since Hasbro never gave us a proper classic Speedball in the 3.75-inch Marvel Universe line, I took to the workbench to build a definitive 1:18 scale version from scratch.

The Recipe & Engineering

Built on a solid Marvel Universe Cyclops base (from the classic Hulk 2-Pack), this piece preserves the factory plastic blue tone for maximum durability.

Sculpting & Hair: The head and costume suit elements were sculpted using Aves Apoxie Putty. To ensure the hair doesn't snap during posing or handling, the hair sculpt was crafted using flexible Procreate putty!
Translucent Goggle Lenses: Instead of just painting flat yellow circles, the goggles feature real custom-poured translucent lenses made with Micro Kristal Klear to achieve realistic glass-like depth.
Paint & Base: Hand-painted with crisp orange and black kinetic bubble patterns using Vallejo and Citadel/Warhammer acrylics. The figure includes a custom Entertainment Earth display stand painted with scorched earth and kinetic impact trails.
