Viņa vieja project: Thank you for clicking on this part of my website. Most of you know me as a customizer, car builder, etc but I also like to help humanitarian causes like the Viņa Vieja (old vineyard) project: Project Viņa Vieja takes place in the hacienda El Carmen, province of Chincha, in the region of Ica, in the country of Peru. One of the hardest hit areas of the August 15th 2007 earthquake that killed thousands of people, leaving the city completely leveled. The Viņa Vieja School library was implemented in November 2008 by conducting a large scale fundraising campaign and an international book drive, however, more help is still needed. These kids do not have the basic tools necessary to study, they attend schools that were left in shambles by the earthquake. The Viņa Vieja project is a bilateral effort by a group of college students from The University of San Marcos, Peru and from Swarthmore College Pennsylvania, This project aims to improve the quality of education of Viņa Vieja Elementary School Nš 22757, a school overlooked by the Peruvian government aid. One of the most important stages of the project, is the community workshops for parents, teachers and students that aims to capacitate them in bookkeeping and early stimulation of reading skills.
